Privacy Policy

We built Vidit to be simple and honest. This policy explains exactly what data we collect, why we collect it, and how you can control it.

01 Who We Are

Vidit is a mobile video editing app developed and operated by LW Apps. We provide tools to trim, merge, and export videos directly from your phone.

When this policy refers to "Vidit," "we," "us," or "our," it means LW Apps and the Vidit service. When it says "you" or "your," it means you — the person using the app.

02 Data We Collect

We only collect what is genuinely needed to make Vidit work.

Account Information

Name Used to personalise your experience and receipts.

Email address Used for login, subscription management, and support.

Phone number Only collected when signing in via KingsChat if no email is available.

KingsChat ID Stored if you sign in using KingsChat OAuth, to link your accounts.

Usage & App Data

Edit count Number of video exports you have made, used to enforce free-tier limits.

Subscription status Whether you hold an active Pro subscription and its expiry date.

FCM token A device token used to deliver push notifications (e.g. new feature announcements). Never used for advertising.

      Your videos stay on your device. Vidit processes all video editing locally using FFmpeg.
      We do not upload, store, or access your video files on our servers at any point.
    

03 How We Use Your Data

Provide the service Authenticate your account, enforce free-edit limits, and unlock Pro features.

Process payments Pass your email to Stripe or Espees to create a checkout session. We do not store card details.

Send notifications Occasional product updates via push notification. You can disable this in your device settings at any time.

Improve the app Aggregate, anonymous usage patterns to understand which features are most used. No individual profiling.

Customer support Respond to your queries and troubleshoot account issues.

We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your data for advertising or share it with data brokers.

04 Payments

Vidit offers subscriptions and optional donations through two payment providers. All payment processing happens entirely within those providers' platforms — we never see or store your card number, bank details, or full payment information.

What we store A Stripe Customer ID linked to your account (used to manage your subscription and avoid creating duplicate customers). Subscription start date and expiry. Transaction reference IDs for Espees payments.

      Vidit supports payment in USD (Stripe), NGN / Naira (Stripe),
      and Espees — the cryptocurrency of the KingsChat ecosystem.
      Donation payments do not grant account access or subscription privileges.
    

05 Third-Party Services

Vidit integrates with the following external services. Each has its own privacy policy.

Stripe

Processes card payments for Pro subscriptions and donations in USD and NGN. Stripe may collect billing name, email, and payment details.

Espees / KingsChat

Powers Espees cryptocurrency payments and KingsChat OAuth login. When you log in with KingsChat, your name, email, and KingsChat profile ID are shared with Vidit.

Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google)

Delivers push notifications to your device. Your FCM device token is stored on our server and shared with Firebase solely to route notifications to your device.

Device Gallery (Gal)

Vidit requests permission to save exported videos to your device's photo gallery. We do not read any existing photos or media from your device.

06 Data Storage & Security

Your account data is stored on secured servers hosted at neosophia.org. Connections between the app and our servers are encrypted using HTTPS/TLS. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt and are never stored in plain text.

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account or request erasure, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (e.g. payment records).

While we take reasonable measures to protect your data, no system is completely secure. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password and to keep your device software up to date.

07 Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data. To exercise any of them, contact us at the address below.

Access — Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
Correction — Ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
Erasure — Request deletion of your account and associated personal data.
Portability — Receive your data in a machine-readable format.
Opt out of notifications — Disable push notifications at any time in your device settings.
Withdraw consent — Where we rely on consent to process your data, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting prior processing.

We will respond to all legitimate requests within 30 days.

08 Children's Privacy

Vidit is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or 16 in the European Economic Area). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately and we will delete it promptly.

09 Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you through the app or via the email address associated with your account, and update the effective date at the top of this page.

Continued use of Vidit after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
